A Note from our Executive Director

April 2, 2020

How are you faring?

Have you noticed any historic buildings in a new way from your window? Have you found yourself grateful for our city’s great scenic landmark parks? Have you been longing to walk back through the doors of any favorite historic building #savedbypreservationists?

We hope you are doing well and staying safe. We continue to find great solace and comfort in the aesthetic beauty of New York City. Examples of townhouses, places of worship, parks, and cherished commercial buildings repeatedly call to mind those who fought arduously in the past to ensure we would have a worthy inheritance – that we could find moments of tranquility, connect to our shared story, and derive a sense that this city has weathered great storms before.

But of course, I presume you have not even seen the sun these past few weeks – as you have no doubt been toiling away diligently to organize your preservation papers, at last.

Seriously, though, I hope you’ve been able to archive occasional moments of beauty when they’ve emerged. Please stay safe. Please also feel free to reach out any time:  bvogel [@] nypap.org

Cordially yours,

Brad Vogel
