Biography

Roger Philip Lang was born in Freeport, New York. He earned his bachelor’s degree in architecture at the University of Michigan in 1966. Upon graduation, he served with the Army Corps of Engineers in Vietnam1.

Brendan Gill

Biography

Brendan Gill was an important figure in New York City’s civil, social and literary scenes. He was born in Hartford, Connecticut on October 4, 1914, and discovered his penchant for architecture as a young child1. He graduated from Yale College in 1936. In that same year, he began working for The New Yorker, writing a column entitled "Skyline." Gill worked for the magazine for over sixty years.
