-
Preservation History Database: We are always looking for editors and knowledgeable professionals to review and fact-check entries in our preservation history database. If you're interested in researching a topic in-depth, we can arrange for you to write a full entry. For students, we also occasionally publish papers and dissertations in our online library.
-
Oral History Interviewers: Individuals with the necessary skills and background knowledge can be paired with a preservationist in order to interview them and document their stories.
-
Archival Knowledge: Archivists and archivists-in-training are invited to reach out to use to help with the proper storage, handling, and inventory of NYPAP's small preservation collections and the collections of other groups. We can also use help digitizing materials and creating accessible online exhibits.
-
Events and Outreach: Volunteer at an event in exchange for the chance to hear a great lecture, mingle with preservationist bigwigs, and snack on yummy food!
-
Administrative Assistance and Support: We can always use help around the office - everything from stuffing envelopes to proofreading documents. We are particularly in need of individuals with web design/programming skills, graphic design and photography skills, and experience in public relations, copyright law, and archives.
