Thanks to the ongoing support of the Gladys Krieble Delmas Foundation, the New York Community Trust, and the Samuel H. Kress Foundation, work on NYPAP’s Preservation Database project has been ongoing. The developing database will provide researchers, students, and the general public with basic information on the history of historic preservation as well as direct users to other resources, primarily of an archival nature.
Entries for key figures, key sites, buildings, organizations, events, and programs will consist of narratives and data fields. Interns have been hard at work drafting pilot narratives and entering information into an image description database which will direct researchers to image sources.
